Dear MBA Student:
Before you come for your tax appointment at, please provide the following documents in addition to your regular tax information:
- All tuition bills on school letterhead / billing forms / invoices noting:
- separate items billed, including tuition and case materials;
- your payments made,
- loans credited and shown in the payments column, and
- scholarships credited and shown in the payments column; with dates for each entry.
Especially important: December and January bills for winter terms.
Note: The IRS allows deductions in the year they are credited to your ("the student's") account.
- Bills and statements of payment, with dates, for computers and peripherals.

Other bills for related supplies; such as palm pilots, photocopies, etc.

School related travel bills (such as travel, hotel, etc.,) not reimbursed and itemized with dates.

Non-reimbursed job hunting expenses.

Travel expenses to get to school and one trip home.

Moving expenses, only if your filing status is 'married filing jointly' and your spouse is working in the new (school) area.
- Living expenses (rent) only if at the location for special 1-year programs, and you plan to return to your previous home location right after school.
- School application fees.
- Rent paid and your landlord's name and address.
- For foreign nationals: make sure to bring your passport, visa information, dates in and out of U.S. for tax year, and total days in U.S. for each of last three (3) years.
Please be sure to keep ONE COMPLETE COPY of all materials you send.
